How Much Does an Enclosed Trailer Cost? 6x12 and 7x16 Examples

Enclosed trailer pricing depends on the exact build, options, and selling dealer. Public Triple R listings reviewed September 25, 2026 included a 6x12 with a vendor door advertised at $5,495 and a 7x16 with a rear ramp advertised at $6,595. These are individual dealer examples, not factory MSRP, a guaranteed price range, or a current inventory promise.

Use them as starting points for a written quote. Confirm the advertised price, availability, taxes, fees, and pickup or delivery costs directly with the seller before making a decision.

Two advertised prices, two different configurations

Jason Dietsch Trailer Sales Midsouth in Michigan City, Mississippi advertised a 2027 Triple R 6x12 with vendor door, stock 026557, at $5,495. Its listing describes a single-axle configuration. The dealer's enclosed inventory page advertised a 2026 Triple R 7x16 with rear ramp, stock 025796, at $6,595.

These examples are different builds and model years. The price difference cannot be attributed to length alone. A vendor door, axle arrangement, rear door, interior height, and other equipment can change both price and suitability. Dealer listings can change or disappear when a trailer sells.

Compare the build before comparing the price

Ask every seller to quote the same requested size and features. Record usable interior dimensions, rear opening, GVWR, empty weight, available payload, brakes, tires, door configuration, and installed options. A size label is not a complete specification.

Triple R offers different configurations, so the specifications for an individual dealer unit may differ from a category-page example. Confirm the exact stock number or proposed factory build on the quote. Our 6x12 versus 7x16 size comparison helps decide how much space you need.

Which options change an enclosed-trailer quote?

Interior height can affect whether equipment clears the opening and whether you can work inside. Ramp doors and barn doors serve different loading routines. Shelving, tie-down systems, interior finishes, lighting, and spare tires also change the package. Ask which items are included and which are separate.

Make two lists: equipment required for the job and upgrades you would like. Have the dealer price optional items separately. That makes it easier to compare a basic working trailer with a more fully equipped build without losing track of essential requirements.

Ask for the total amount due

The advertised trailer price may not be the final amount paid. Request an itemized total showing the trailer, options, dealer charges, applicable taxes and registration costs, and any transport charges. Confirm payment-method fees directly with the seller.

For an ordered build, ask about the deposit, how configuration changes are handled, estimated timing, and when the balance is due. Get pickup arrangements in writing before traveling. If financing is offered, compare the full terms and total cost with the cash quote; availability and terms depend on the provider.

A quote checklist you can reuse

  • Dealer, quote date, expiration date, and stock number or build description.
  • Size, usable interior dimensions, and door opening.
  • GVWR, actual empty weight, payload, and ramp rating where applicable.
  • Standard equipment and separately priced options.
  • Warranty coverage and the process for requesting service.
  • Taxes, fees, delivery or pickup, and the final amount due.
  • Availability, deposit terms, and expected handoff date.

Keep photographs and specification sheets with the quote. If two prices are far apart, compare this checklist line by line before deciding one trailer is better value.

Get a quote for your actual load

Tell the dealer what you carry, its dimensions and weight, your tow vehicle, and your ZIP code. Mention shelving or other equipment you plan to add. This helps the seller quote the trailer you can use instead of the smallest advertised price.
